COVID-19

WE ARE BEING PROACTIVE

The health and well-being of our residents and staff is our top priority. We are working closely with public health authorities and will continue to work diligently in implementing our COVID-19 infection control policies and procedures along with our facility emergency plan. In addition, we are closely monitoring information from the California Department of Public Health, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Based on published guidance, we have implemented the following measures:

  • Monitoring residents for fever, cough, shortness of breath, chills, repeated shaking with chills, muscle pain, headache, sore throat and new loss of taste or smell.
  • Facility personnel are using proper personal protective equipment in accord with published guidance.
  • Actively screening employees and authorized visitors for fever and symptoms when they report to work.
  • Telling employees to stay at home if they are feeling ill.
  • Limiting visitor access to essential healthcare providers.
  • Training on proper hygiene including washing hands regularly and sufficiently.
  • Cleaning and wiping down frequently touched surfaces.
  • Limiting contact with others (social distancing).
  • Canceling all group activities and communal dining.

We have a dedicated COVID unit where residents who are suspected to be positive for the COVID-19 virus, or residents with confirmed positive results are located in this self-contained unit.  For each shift we have “dedicated heroes” who work only in that unit and those staff members do not treat residents outside of the isolation unit during that shift. From time to time, employees who work in the COVID unit one day may work in a non-COVID unit another day, when needed, but only after showering, changing clothes, and going through our screening process.

We are all in this together. This is an unprecedented national emergency that has our leadership continuously working to make the best decisions we can for our residents, our employees and our communities. We are making these decisions by following guidance from county, state and federal authorities and utilizing the guidelines from the CDC.  For more information, please visit the following websites:
